Big updates ahead for GoPrep – and a new customer processing fee at checkout
We’ve got some exciting updates to share that will make GoPrep faster, smarter, and more powerful for your business. In the 2nd half of 2025, we’ll be rolling out a series of major improvements that have been months in the making – all designed to help you increase sales, improve your customer experience, and run your business more efficiently.
1. Enjoy the New, Modern Redesign
You’ve probably already noticed – GoPrep has a completely new look.
The redesign is now live across desktop and mobile, delivering:
- A cleaner interface
- A faster, more intuitive experience
- Easier checkout and subscription management


2. New Onboarding Flow (Now Live)
Optionally enable this and first-time customers no longer land straight on your full menu.
Instead, they’ll go through a short, high-converting onboarding flow where they:
- Select meal preferences using your tags
- Flag any allergies
- Optionally choose how many meals they want which leads to a package size
This helps increase conversion rates, average cart size, and satisfaction.
3. Subscription System Overhaul (Launching Next Week)
We’re making major upgrades under the hood to how subscriptions work — making them:
- Much faster for everyone
- Simple and less confusing for customers
- More reliable for recurring orders
This is one of our most requested improvements, and it’s now almost in place.
4. Major Speed & Stability Boost
We’re upgrading our entire infrastructure. We’ll be upgrading to the latest versions of Laravel and PHP, and investing in better servers to dramatically improve page speed, load times, and performance for both you and your customers.
5. Zapier Integration
Connect GoPrep to thousands of tools like Quickbooks, Slack, Google Sheets, Hubspot, and more – no developer needed.
Examples:
- Add new orders automatically to a Google Sheet
- Send customer or lead data to your CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Pipedrive)
- Trigger internal Slack or Discord notifications when orders come in
- Push each completed order to QuickBooks as a sales receipt to automate bookkeeping and simplify tax prep.
6. AI Integration for Sales and Insights
We’re working on a powerful new AI assistant that will:
- Analyze your sales trends and generate custom reports
- Suggest pricing & improvements to your menu based on real data
- Help you write better item names and descriptions to improve conversions
- Show you patterns in your most loyal customers and biggest spenders
This AI will work behind the scenes using your store’s activity to deliver insights, suggestions, and reports that help you grow your business in real, measurable ways.
A Small Change to Support Big Upgrades
To support the rising costs of running high-performance infrastructure and usage-based APIs, we’re introducing a small processing fee starting October 1st, 2025:
- 1.5% for Starter Plans
- 1.35% for Pro Plans
This fee is paid by your customers at checkout – not you.
Your margins stay the same. If you already charge a processing fee, this will be added to it. Otherwise, it will appear as a standard line item at checkout.
Like nearly every modern platform, we chose this approach instead of raising your monthly subscription – keeping GoPrep affordable while continuing to invest in new tools, performance, and AI-powered features that help you grow.
Industry research also shows that service fees under 2% have no measurable impact on order volume or customer retention and have become a standard, accepted part of online checkout experiences.
