Big Upgrades Coming to GoPrep

We’ve got some exciting updates to share that will make GoPrep faster, smarter, and more powerful for your business. In the 2nd half of 2025, we’ll be rolling out a series of major improvements that have been months in the making – all designed to help you increase sales, improve your customer experience, and run your business more efficiently.

What’s Coming to GoPrep

1. A Complete Design Overhaul

We’re rolling out a full redesign of GoPrep on both desktop and mobile including a modernized look, cleaner interface, and a smoother, more intuitive experience for your customers. This includes easier checkout flows and better subscription management.

2. Major Speed & Stability Improvements

We’re upgrading our entire infrastructure. We’ll be moving to the latest versions of Laravel and PHP, and investing in better servers to dramatically improve page speed, load times, and performance for both you and your customers.

3. New Onboarding Flow

Instead of immediately showing your full menu, enable the option to guide new customers through a short onboarding flow where they can set meal preferences using our tags system, flag allergies, and choose how many meals they want. This helps increase conversions, average cart size, and customer satisfaction especially for first time buyers.

4. Zapier Integration

With our new Zapier integration, you’ll be able to connect GoPrep to thousands of others tools and apps in just a few clicks triggering automated events. Some examples:

  1. Add new orders automatically to a Google Sheet
  2. Send customer or lead data to your CRM (e.g., HubSpot, Pipedrive)
  3. Trigger internal Slack or Discord notifications when orders come in
  4. Push each completed order to QuickBooks as a sales receipt to automate bookkeeping and simplify tax prep.

And more. No developer needed.

5. AI Integration for Sales and Insights

We’re launching a powerful new AI assistant that will:

  1. Analyze your sales trends and generate custom reports
  2. Suggest pricing & improvements to your menu based on real data
  3. Help you write better item names and descriptions to improve conversions
  4. Show you patterns in your most loyal customers and biggest spenders

This AI will work behind the scenes using your store’s activity to deliver insights, suggestions, and reports that help you grow your business in real, measurable ways.

A Small Change to Support Big Upgrades

In order to cover the ongoing cost of these upgrades – especially those involving external APIs and incur real usage-based costs – we’re introducing a small processing fee beginning September 1st, 2025.

  • 1.5% for Starter Plans
  • 1.35% for Pro Plans

This fee is paid by your customers, not by you. Your bottom line and profit margins stay exactly the same. If you’re already charging a processing fee, this amount will simply be added to it. If not, it will show as a new line item during checkout.

We’ve intentionally chosen this route rather than raising your monthly subscription. Like nearly every modern platform, we’re moving toward a hybrid model that enables us to keep your subscription cost fixed while continuing to build and support new tools, integrations, and AI-powered features.

Industry research also shows that service fees under 2% have no measurable impact on order volume or customer retention and have become a standard, accepted part of online checkout experiences.
